The Staff/Nurse Educator is a Registered Nurse professional who will assist in all the initial and ongoing trainings for Nursing Staff at Fairmount Behavioral Health. The Nurse Educator will facilitate orientation for all new nursing staff, focusing on both the classroom orientation and the job specific orientation. The Nurse Educator will work closely with the Nurse and Psych Tech preceptors who will oversee the completion of orientation competencies. The Nurse Educator will ensure that all required training material is completed prior to completion of orientation period. The Nurse Educator will also identify on-going training opportunities at Fairmount Behavioral Health and facilitate the coordination of such trainings. The Nurse Educator will evaluate patient care through collaborative efforts with health care team in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care. Oversee and facilitate Healthstream education with respective managers and/or directors. Assist with maintenance of current logs of all mandatory annual trainings. Provides professional, on-going supervision to Charge Nurses, Registered Nurses, Psychiatric Technicians and Counselor Aides.

Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing program. BSN Preferred. Two (2) years prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred, prior experience working with specific patient population. Prior experience in a nursing education role preferred. Demonstrated strong communication skills, as well as leadership qualities. Current Licensure and registration by the PA board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse.. Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management and CPR Training.
