Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Spine
UM Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), has a full-time employed position available for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing, community-based Spine Service located at the UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD.
Physician Assistant Job Specifics:
- Group comprised of two Advanced Practice Providers supporting two primary spine surgeons.
- Position includes outpatient clinic, inpatient consults, and OR time.
- Monday through Friday work schedule, no weekends or call requirements.
- Excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative and collegial team.
- Ideal candidate will have experience in neurosurgery and/or orthopedics.

Education & Training:
Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. Hold an unrestricted license in the state of Maryland. RNFA certification preferred for NPs.
Physician Assistant: Master of Science with appropriate licensure and credentialing to practice under the supervision of a physician in the state of Maryland. Clinical experience with the orthopedic diagnoses and conditions preferred.
Work Orientation & Experience: Previous experience with direct patient care within the orthopedic specialty (may include time as athletic trainer, cast technician, medical assistant, etc. prior to P.A. certification) preferred.
