Schedule

  • Flexible schedule hours ranging from 7:00AM-4:30PM
  • 1 Saturday a month

Overview

Christian Hospital is a full-service acute care community hospital located on 28 acres in north St. Louis County. Christian Hospital is noted for its excellence in heart services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, breast health services, orthopedic/spine surgery, hyperbaric wound care, pain management, vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastrointestinal care, stroke care, nephrology, therapy, radiology, urology, pulmonary care and treating sleep disorders.

 

Northwest HealthCare, located six miles west of Christian Hospital, provides the community 24-hour emergency care, with Washington University Physicians and St. Louis Children’s Hospital providing pediatric services. Northwest HealthCare is also home to the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of full-service outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting.

 

Occupational Therapy provides therapy services for persons who have experienced a disruption in life roles (including self-maintenance, work and leisure) because of illness or injury and assists the individual with health maintenance and community re-entry by assisting the individual to achieve maximum functional ability.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed occupational therapist as specified in their health care service setting.

 

Responsibilities

  • Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed occupational therapist.
  • Collaborates with the licensed occupational therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient?s plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
  • Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient?s discharge note from occupational therapy
  • Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
  • Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the licensed occupational therapist.
