Summary

SUMMARY: Responsibilities include communicating the system mission and strategic vision to the public and through the creation, development, and editing of original content for internal communications including employee intranet and newsletters, executive communications and blogs; message platforms and articles; backgrounders and presentation materials based on the requirements of a client or the organization; coordinates and develops tactical plans and policies for content including content performance analysis and analytic reports.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

  1. Aids in the development of a broad-range of communication strategies, internal communications plans, message management processes, and initiatives that effectively educate, inform, and build relationships with internal stakeholder groups.

  2. Assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership.

  3. Manage internal communications.

  4. Develops and executes communications plans that support identified communication goals; identifies needs and objectives in partnership with executive and management sponsors; design approaches to ensure consistency with brand style guidelines and existing creative; develops schedules and budgets as required for each project.

  5. Creates new content, rewrites existing content or edits and proofreads content that is informative and engaging, enabling target audiences to get their information promptly and efficiently.

  6. Responsible for managing content on social media and develops unique ideas for web content.

  7. Fosters relationships with advocates and key internal stakeholders.

  8. Coordinates with Director, Corporate Communications & Marketing, to manage communications for confidential and sensitive topics including collective bargaining agreement terms, conditions and proposals by AHS to bargaining unit entities.

  9. Provides communications support as needed to internal events.

  10. Serve rotation for media relations on-call, receive inquiries and brief the Director deliver responses as approved during the day, after hours, on weekends and on holidays, in accordance with the system's 24/7 media relations policy.

  11. Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, English or related field.

Required Experience: Five years of communications with a strong background in internal communications including executive and employee communications; content development including experience in social media project and content management.
